The winery of As Barrocas
The As Barrocas winery, with a surface of 30 m2, is perhaps the largest traditional winery in the entire region of Monterrei. Under ground is a cellar divided by two lines of truncated mitral arches that support the deck. The winery occupies the whole of the lower floor, while the upper one is dedicated to living space. It has a rectangular floor of 48 square metres which is placed under-ground, with access by the North sector through a double leaf door covered by a relieving arch in the form of a double lintel. The interior structure of the warehouse is divided into three longitudinal halls separated from each other by three-way polygonal arches sup-ported by columns. The lateral spaces were designed to support the wooden vats contain-ing the grape juice, as evidenced by the paired granite supports, called canteiros. To em-phasize the granite gabled roof, formed by granite masonry is perfectly worked and squared, and protects each one of the three lanes in which the space is divided.
